Wet outfield delays start in Chittagong

Wet outfield caused by overnight shower and early morning drizzle is delaying the start of the second day's play of the first Test between India and Bangladesh at Chittagong Divisional Stadium on Saturday.

The sun is out and grounds men are trying hard to make the field ready to play, but poor drainage system of the newly built stadium has resulted in some patchy areas. The wicket was covered with six different layers of different covering and looks pretty dry.

After first bout of inspection, the umpires have decided to inspect the field again at 2:00 PM local time (8 AM GMT). Play is expected to start shortly after the inspection.

India ended the first days play with score of 295/3 as bad light stopped play after 77 overs. Two experienced pros Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly remained unbeaten on 80 and 82 respectively. They already shared a 163 run partnership, and India is heading towards a massive score unless Bangladeshi bowlers can produce some magic on a very unfriendly wicket.
